Shai-Osudoku District Hospital 5 Years On

The Shai-Osudoku District Hospital was the first facility to be completed within the Ghana Health Programme and was handed over to the Ministry of Health in early 2016.

Since then, it has outperformed the UN Sustainable Development Goal for Health under the leadership of Dr Kennedy Brightson and the Ghana Health Service, with zero child and maternal mortality. Dodowa Hospital was highly commended by the World Health Organisation following a visit in 2018 by its Africa Director, Dr Matshidiso Moeti.

5 years on, Dodowa Hospital is now the leading hospital in the Shai-Osudoku region, serving a wider catchment area of 250,000 population (up from 50,000 catchment of the old hospital it replaced).
