Bouaké Hospital ready for 2023 Africa Cup of Nations in Cote d’Ivoire

The 150-bed hospital in Bouaké, Côte d’Ivoire, is complete and has treated its first patient. The hospital brings modern healthcare facilities with state-of-the-art medical equipment to the country’s second city with a population of around 650,000 inhabitants. We are proud to have delivered a facility that will make so much difference to the lives of those living in the region.

The hospital features some of the latest medical equipment available, including a new form of CT scanner that harnesses artificial intelligence, a high specification microscope with Advanced Surgeon-Controlled Robotics and a state-of-the-art image guiding system to aid surgery.

Côte d’Ivoire is hosting the 2023 Africa Cup of Nations football competition and the government has invested an estimated $1 billion in infrastructure developments, including four new stadiums, several new hospitals and major road upgrades.

Côte d’Ivoire has staged an impressive recovery since the end of the civil war in 2011. Thanks to significant government investment and the strong performance of its two main exports - coffee and cocoa - from 2012 to 2021, the economy has grown by an average of 7.4% per year, the second-fastest rate of economic growth in Africa and fourth-fastest in the world.
