Official Handover of Kumawu Hospital Ghana

The 120-bed capacity Sekyere Kumawu District Hospital in the Ashanti region was opened for public use on 14 April 2024, after a 10-year hiatus caused by funding constraints and variations that altered construction schedules. In spite of this, NMSI has successfully delivered a world-class health facility.

Featuring state-of-the-art equipment, the facilities serve the Ashanti region, including Asante Mampong, Nsuta, Beposo, Kwamang and its environs, as well as the Afram Plains, Kumawu and Effiduase.

Officials of the Ministry of Health and the District Health Directorate officiated the handover, which was attended by the Head of the Capital Investment and Project Management Unit, Ministry of Health, Kwame Amponsah Sarfo; Deputy Director of Health Services in Charge of Administration in the Ashanti region, Micah Asare Bediako; Medical Superintendent, Dr Alex Agbanu; and NMSI Regional Director, Stephen Bush.
